Family Day Out - Eureka! The National Children's Museum

Last weekend we jumped into the car and heading over to Halifax. The town has one of the best museums in the world....Eureka!

Eureka! is a unique place for families and groups to visit, where children aged 0 to 11 are inspired to learn all about themselves and the world around them by playing, imagining, experimenting and – above all – having fun, with the caring grown-ups in their lives.

For the whole day the prices are great, check-out the reviews:
  • Aged 0-11 months: Free!
  • Aged 1-2: £4.25
  • Children aged 3+: £11.95
  • Grown-ups: £
There are two floors of fun; covering a wide range of topics from the human body, space and the dessert through-to mock shops like Halifax Bank, the Post Office and M&S where your kids can play and experience life as a worker.

Not only is it highly educational for both children and adults it is also insanely fun and mad. The facilities are amazing, with plenty of room to move around freely, park buggies and sit down. You can bring your own food or dine in their cafe.

As attractions go this is one of the best i have experienced, the place is evolving every month, which is great as you can bring the kids back as often as you like with an annual pass.
These last few months have been all about space, it was great to see and hear all about the solar system from people living and breathing space. Kids were going mental!

Anyway i don't want to spoil it by going into a load of detail so you will just have to go and visit!

If you would like to take the kids on more days out then you should consider the Creepy Crawlies Adventure Playsite in York, Tropical world in Leeds or a Yorkshire Water reservoir walk.

Here are a few family photos to wet your appetite:
