What’s The Best Flooring For The Nursery? | #CP

Expecting a baby makes us go through so many emotions, stress, excitement apprehension; but most of all happiness (we hope!). All sorts of preparation is required that often we forget that making clever interior decisions is important – it’ll make your life a lot easier when the baby does come! But where to start? Well we’d start with basics and the flooring the perfect place.

Now we know that being pregnant can just make you feel like sitting on the sofa all day, after all who can blame us! But we promise that if you put in a little effort now it’ll make things a lot easier when the baby comes and that’s a very busy time! We know that we’re all on different budgets, so we’re going to discuss a range of flooring types that’ll keep everyone happy.

Luxury Vinyl Tiles

If you’re sold on total practicality, then we guarantee that vinyl is the clear winner. It’s very durable and will last for many years without showing wear, perfect if you’re wanting something to stay and do the job well without worry. You can imagine what sorts of things fall on your floor (we wont go into too much detail). The good news it that luxury vinyl tiles are scratch, stain and waterproof so you should have no worries if anything at all gets on your floor! Once more it’s also nice and affordable, so ideal for those of you on a strict budget. One of the best things is that you’re not having to sacrifice good looks with LVT either, with it looking very convincingly like natural products like real wood and stone!

Carpet

A classic choice for the bedroom, carpet has plenty of advantages over hard surfaces. The first one being that it’s very soft, therefore much safer for when you’re little one takes those inevitable tumbles as well as being much softer for them to play on – no cold hard surfaces! It’s also relatively affordable too and comes in many materials from wool to synthetic, there’s something for everyone!

However, carpet can stain and will show wear after lots of foot traffic, so just be aware of this especially around your messy little tots.

Laminate

Laminate has many similarities with LVT and again shouldn’t cause you any extra stress. Very hard wearing and looks like natural products, laminate is certainly a worthy contender for your nursery. However, it is only resistant to scratches, stains and water so you do have to take a little more care than with LVT.

All in all, we’d say that LVT is certainly the best choice. Practical, durable as well as stylish – it’ll fit into your busy parental routine perfectly!
