Could These Hobbies Make You Money? | #CP

We’re all so fortunate to live in a world where it’s possible to make money doing just about anything that you love. Years before, our elders had to do physical work to pay the bills and eat or they were limited to their immediate area. It wasn’t always possible to follow your dreams. But, thanks to technology, things really have changed. It’s amazing to think that, if you want, you can create a career doing the things that you love. So yes, if there is a hobby you have that you wish you could do more of, or a pastime you’d love to turn into a career, there is a high chance that you can. You just have to know how to get started, then give it a go.

So, if you have a particular thing that you just love to do, and you’re wondering if you can make a little money from it, you’ve come to the right place. Or even if you’re looking at alternative career ideas that could inspire you to make a change, here’s what you need to know.

Reading

To start with, if you’re a huge reader and you love to try and read as much as possible, you may find that you wish you could be reading all of the time. When that’s the case, you may want to be a professional reader. You could get paid to read manuscripts for publishers or agents to help them see what could be worth reading. Or, yo could even think about becoming a book reviewer and blogging (more on that in point four) or writing for a magazine or website.

Searching For Treasure

Do you fancy yourself as a bit of an explorer? Maybe you really love the idea of exploring the local area or wilder world, and you really enjoy finding different things as you do it? Maybe you even want to try out metal detecting as a hobby or already do it? When you do, you’ll find that you could be searching for actual money, rather than waiting for others to pay you, you’re already out there searching for your treasure while doing something that you love.

Talking

Many of us like to talk. It can be fun to get into conversation with people, hear interesting stories, and generally get talking about topics that we’re passionate about. Maybe you even feel like you missed your calling and wish you had started out in radio. Well, that might not be the case, but you could definitely launch your own podcast about anything that you like. You just need to start talking and get uploading!

Blogging

As a step on from that, there’s also blogging. If you love to write or you really want to create stories or articles on a topic that you’re really passionate about, then blogging could be for you. And, eventually, you may find that you can make money via advertising or even sponsorships and make it a full time thing.

Playing Sports

If you’re a huge sports fan, you may wish that you could play all day long instead of sitting in an office. So maybe you need to think about moving into a sporting career instead. And although you may feel like you’ve missed your calling when it comes to actually playing sports, you can always become a sports coach. You’d get to shape the next generations of sportspeople and enjoy being involved in all aspects of the game yourself.

Fitness & Nutrition

Next up, there’s also fitness and nutrition. Maybe you’re someone that really loves to be able to work out and look after your body? Are you passionate about feeling your best and taking care of yourself? Then why not dive into that deeper? You could become a nutritionist or a coach, a trainer or launch your own online programs dedicated to the topic you love the most. Then, your hobby will become a high earning career for you.

Active Pursuits

Or maybe your most favourite hobby of all is being outdoors, camping, hiking, or anything else. When this is the case, you may wish that you could spend the majority of your time doing that, and even get paid for it! So why not give it a go? You could start your own company around your love for your favourite active pursuit. Maybe you could put on tours? Hosting camping or survival events? Teach biking or something similar? When you get creative with these ideas, it’s easy to see how you can earn a living doing what you love.
