My 2017 Interior Wish List

As the boys grow older, we are finding the dynamics of family life is changing and therefore our home needs to change with it. We have been in our dream house now for newly two years and although things are shaping up and we love our family home, there are still some pieces we would like to finish it off. The icing on the cake so to speak!

Hudson Furniture, Oval Back Chair

For our dining area we are looking to invest in some good quality, timeless furniture that will see us through for years to come and be a great addition to our forever family home. These Oval Back Chairs from Hudson Furniture will offer comfort and style. Made from solid Mahogany, with different finish and fabric options we’ll be able to have a set of timeless chairs that will go with our décor and help make family mealtimes a bit more special.  I particularly like the weathered Oak, as it goes with our shabby chic, French provincial furniture

At $440 and with size alterations available I feel confident that we’ll get great quality furniture that’s right for our home.

Mason Jar Storage & Organisation

Every family home needs organisation to keep parents sane. These wall mounted mason jars would make a great addition to our bathroom to help keep our toothbrush’s and toothpaste handy and neat, and many other lotions and potions.

This is handmade to order and therefore we can choose wood that suits our décor. I love this piece as it’s rustic and unique but serves a very functional purpose to help out our hectic family routine. At £24.74, it’s reasonably priced for what you get and the time and care taken.

Ikea Hemingsbo Frame

As the boys grow older, craft time is serious business in our house. We want the boys to be proud of what they produce therefore these front opening frames from Ikea are a bargain at £3 each.

In particular, Teddy, our almost three year will love having somewhere to display his latest masterpieces. They look easy to open, meaning that Teddy can take pride in changing over his artwork and showing off his growing artistic talent!... It will also keeps artwork in good condition so we can keep in for years to come.

West Elm Industrial Storage Coffee Table

We haven’t had a coffee table for a while now, due to sharp corners and little crawlers, however as the boys are getting older maybe it’s time to invest! This storage coffee table for John Lewis looks perfect for storing away books, the tv remotes and our more expensive possessions during playtime, but amazingly converts to a table for evenings in front of the laptop.

The coffee table is made from steel and mango wood, it’s contemporary industrial style will work perfectly with our new sofa and will be a timeless, great quality piece to last us years to come.

At £499, admittedly it’s not a bargain, but when buying a piece of furniture like this is a big investment with longevity.

Chiltern Sideboard, from Next

A perfect unit to place our TV on, this sideboard from Next (£399) will work really well in our living room.

We have to keep the TV and electrical equipment out of reach of little hands and this should do the job, while still being stylish and giving us much needed storage.

I love the old world feel with the apothecary style cupboards and drawers and the rustic wood feel that fits in so well in our home.
