Byron Burgers Harrogate

The Lancashire Dad and i were lucky enough to be invited down to the open of Byron Burgers in Harrogate this week. Not only did we get taste a wide range of their delicious food, but we also got to try some of the beers they offer. All with the additional bonus of having a beer tasting session with one of the guys from Vocation brewery, the brewery that provides Byron's restaurant in Harrogate with some of their craft beers.

For those of you not yet familiar with the brand: Byron was founded by Tom Byng in 2007 with the mission of serving proper hamburgers like those he remembered fondly from his college days in the States - made from four cuts of properly sourced British beef, ground fresh, cooked medium so it’s pink and juicy, and served in a squishy bun with minimum fuss and fanfare.

Byron’s menu, created by Head Chef Fred Smith, keeps thing simple with a range of burgers, moreish sides and homemade desserts, plus a regularly-changing special– currently a football-inspired hamburger - Byronaldo.

The food we sampled was divine, i can honestly say that their mantra: do a simple thing well, and do it properly, was not a marketing gimmick. The burgers they put out were incredible, cooked to perfection, not too big, supported by a brioche bun and quality sourced veg. Don't take my word for it, check out the pictures:

The drinks list includes Byron’s carefully chosen selection of craft beers, including the locally brewed Heart & Soul, from West Yorkshire-based Vocation Brewery, who specialise in modern, hop-forward beers, with bold and distinctive flavours. Customers can also choose to wash down their hamburger with a selection of bourbons, Byron’s famously thick milkshakes and hard shakes, and craft sodas.

My personal favourite beer of the night had to go to the brand new Vocation double IPA Smash and Grab:
As with every Byron restaurant, the new Harrogate restaurant has a completely unique design with stylish, green and moody interiors, creating an intimate setting for diners.

The restaurant will create over 30 new jobs for the town, including roles across managerial, kitchen and front of house teams, both full and part time.

I loved the food, beer and experince and for that reason i will be heading back to Byron Burger in the near future with the family.
