FREE Outdoor Adventure Morning In Harrogate | Sat 17 October

Belmont Grosvenor School are holding a free Outdoor Adventure Morning for 4 to 7 year olds in the grounds of their school.

The school is set in 20 acres of grounds in Birstwith, just 3 miles from Harrogate, and children at the school enjoy Forest School sessions as part of the curriculum.

Forest School takes children out of the classroom and into the outdoors, to explore nature and the environment. The sessions are child-led, and the teachers respond to what the children want to do - be it building dens, collecting sticks and toasting marshmallows.

Forest School sessions encourage children to become independent, to use their imagination and creativity, it helps build confidence and a child';s social skills.

On Saturday (17th), Forest Schools leader Nick Wield is running a two hour session - from 10am to 12 noon - for children in the area to come along and try one of these sessions for themselves.

They are aimed at 4 to 7 year olds - and as well as going on a scavenger hunt in the school's woodland, there will be some den building, camp fire lighting, story telling and definitely toasting marshmallows!

It's a free event - all we ask is for parents to pre-register as we have a limited number of spaces.
