Gifts for Father's Day - Yankee Candle

With Father's Day fast approaching i thought that you might like some gift inspiration.

The kind folk over at Yankee Candle got in touch and asked me if i fancied testing out some of their most popular candles from their Father's Day range.

Yankee Candle have a huge selection of fragrances. From home fragrancing to car jars, they really have something to suit any preference and more importantly budget!

From the Father's Day at Yankee Candle range i was sent a large jar candle of Turquoise Sky and Jar of Mid Summers Night.

Whilst i already own Yankee Candles i have never before purchased them online, i usually purchase them at an independent retailer. I was absolutely amazed at the quality of protect the candles received. Often it is not worth commenting on the quality of the box that products are delivered in, however in this case the box was of high quality and i am sure i could have dropped an elephant on top of it and it would have survived the impact. Opening the box is was good to see that the jars were well protected by tight-fitting polystyrene.

Both of the jars looked great, quality made and not even a scratch on them. You can tell you have a Yankee candle by the look and feel of the jars, they stand out amongst the crowd and it is a brand you want to have seen around your home.

The first candle i looked at was the Turquoise Sky, the large jar candle retails at £19.99.

The product is described as calm, salty air with hints of sea grass and musk. Smelling the fragrance you really do feel like your floating gently on ocean waves, beneath a bright blue sky.

Whilst it is considered a gentle fragrance it is a strong scent and is definitely masculine. Even just opening the jar packed the room full of the ocean like fragrance. This was the first candle i tested and it was my favourite, not only because it is my favourite colour, but because after a long day in the office i can see myself coming home and instantly feeling relax by its natural fragrance.

The next candle was Midsummers Night, the large jar candle retails for £19.99.

The scent seems to be very popular amongst Yankee's customers. The candle is described as an intoxicating and masculine blend of musk, patchouli, sage and mahogany cologne.

The night fragrance packs a bold aftershave led scent and is perhaps the masculine candle i have ever come across. It offers something completely different than the turquoise sky candle: it is comforting through its familiarity. The scent hangs in the air, but is not over-powering and is one i would us in the day rather than on a night. From the reviews of the product, this is the fragrance that women are recommending the most for Father's day.

Both candles have been placed on the mantelpiece for show and to keep them out of reach from the little monster.

I love the brand, i love the fragrances and i think that Yankee candles make a great gift, not only for Father's Day but for any occasion. Visit their gifts for him page should you be looking for inspiration: http://www.yankeecandle.co.uk/icat/forhim
