Bark Ingredients
If you want to make the bark all you will need 300g (10oz) of white chocolate and 125g of much dried fruits; this can be anything from nuts, dried apricots, cherries and almond flakes.
I did mine on the cheap and used the following products
- Morrison's savers Fruit & Nuts 200g - £0.56
- Morrison's White Chocolate Bar (200g) £0.99
So for your eyes only take a look at the recipe and look-on in amazement at the skill and beauty of my white chocolate bark;
Step 1:
Chuck all the broken pieces of white chocolate into a heatproof bowl and melt gently over simmering water in a saucepan, please remember to stir every now and then.
Step 2: Once the chocolate has melted, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. Next you will need to pick up a chopping board and a selection of your dried goods, start cutting your fruits and nuts into the smallest pieces possible.
One chopped, put aside 2tbsp of the cuttings and then mix the rest of the mix into the melted chocolate.
Step 3:
If you have a rubber baking tray i would recommend using it to set the mixture. Simply pour the mixture into the tray as thinly as possible. Consider using the back of a spoon to smooth out the mixture - you might not over the whole tray, but i wouldn't worry about that as long as you have a thin bark its all good.
Before you move onto the next step you should scatter the remaining mixture onto the top of the bark.
Step 4:
All you need to do now is put the tray in the fridge until it sets, you should take it out after 15 minutes to cut and then place it back into the fridge to set, this should at about 30 minutes.
Step 5:
After it sets transfer the bark into a container and start to enjoy the fruits of your labour. If you keep the container in the fridge you can expect it to keep for at least five days.
