New research from ‘all-new’ next generation online
draw game GeoLotto.com has revealed the UK’s luckiest locations, with North
Yorkshire scooping the top spot having hosted over £4million worth of lucky
squares.
This week i was given the chance to join the GeoLotto.com game, powered by Google Maps. It offers weekly cash prizes including a £1 Million jackpot. Players on the
website simply choose squares from a map of Britain, entering them into the
weekly prize draw, with each square priced at just £1.
Following closely behind North Yorkshire in the
‘Luckiest Place’ stakes is Greater Manchester, where over £3,900,000 in big
wins have landed in the last six months, and London, which has claimed
£2,700,000 in big winning squares in the same time period.
In terms of frequency however, Yorkshire remains the
undisputed leader with residents of North Yorkshire being the most likely
people to have a lucky square, with 19 x £100,000 wins landing in the region.
The results also prove that lightening can strike
twice, and indeed three times, as Hertfordshire, Sussex and West Yorkshire have
all had winning weeks whereby three or more people have scooped £100,000 wins
in the same weekly draw.
Scotland is unfortunately the unluckiest place for
GeoLotto.com players, accounting for almost half (21) of the places never to
see a big win. Dumfries and Galloway however buck this trend slightly, being
the highest charting locations within Scotland coming in down at 32nd place on the winners board with both
having seen £600,000 in big wins.
Last week i got the
chance to try out the geo lotto for myself and i do the lottery every week i was
more than happy to try out something new.... you know, taking a break from the
old routine.
The sign-up process was easy with no notable stumbling
blocks. Getting my head into the individual games was easy as
they provided easy to follow videos along the way. Below you will find one
the videos i watched that help me dive right into Google Maps:
At first i played the weekly draw game, the geo lotto is drawn every Saturday. So every week you can either login or select the squares you want to claim or you can select them at random, or you can subscribe to the squares on a weekly basis.
As you can see from the image i always like to keep it
in Yorkshire so i went for the squares that held some emotional significance.
Knaresborough Castle was just of the boxes i subscribed opted to back on a
weekly basis.
My honest opinion on the game is that it enable
"joe blogs" to control their own destiny. Unlike the lottery you are
in control, the game appealed more to me because i was able to select the
places that meant the most to me. Not only do you feel a part of the game you
have more chances of winning!
I also had a play around on the Geo Lotto Instant Win Games. Playable from 5p a square through to £2 the games are based on a treasure hunt, so like the main geo lotto game but instead of a draw you dig-up squares to reveal cash prizes or bonuses.
I found this particularly entertaining as they give clues on the larger maps to tell you where the large amounts of "gold" are hidden. I have spent four pound on the 20p game and was able to win my money back and more after only digging a few squares. Unlike other more mainstream online games you control your own destiny!
If you ever get chance to play i would love to hear your thoughts and hopefully your good news!
