How Much Sleep Should My Child Be Getting?

This week has been hard, the newborn now three weeks old has decided he doesn't like sleeping on a night now. This has become a bit of a problem that i am now going back to work full time after having three amazing weeks off work.

You never got told how many times a baby should do things like eat, poo and sleep... we were just let to our own devices. Now that i am back at work i thought i would do a bit of digging and find out if its my son being a royal pain in the bum or is it every baby that likes to force sleep deprivation.

According to this awesome infographic i found online my newborn should sleep 15-18 hours a day. He does do this but he has decided to wake in the night and sleep all day - i think this is due to the time he was born to be honest. He feeds on 4oz every two hours so putting him to sleep in-between 10pm and 3am is impossible!

If anyone has any idea on how i can alter is sleep cycle without opening a massive can of worms please do comment and let me know. I do miss my sleep!
