Takeaway Review: Cardamom Black, Harrogate

So this week i got the chance to sample Cardamom Black's Pan Asian takeout and after the week we've had with the boys being sick with chickenpox, we were well and truly ready for a treat.

For those of you not yet familiar with Cardamom Black, it is restaurant with dramatic red and black interior serving creative Pan South Asian cuisine, located in the heart of Harrogate on Cheltenham Parade. They actually occupy a building which once housed the Empire Theatre. A Theatre which was popular for variety shows as well as the silent films.

So Cardamom Black have just started offering takeaway due to the large amount of requests they have had. At the moment they are offering free delivery on orders over £20. All you need to do is browse the online menu here and give them call on 01423 31 31 36 to place an order, you can even pay by card if you don't have the cash.

As neither me or my partner are a huge fan of spice we opted for the milder dishes. We spent around £34 and we order the following:
  • Grilled Lahsen Mushrooms with chips
  • Desi Masala (Chicken)
  • Chicken korma
  • Plain naan
  • House Pilau
  • Chips
It took about 30 minutes for them to deliver it and it arrived piping hot in a quality take-away box. I have to say that i have never had food that was delivered this hot before!

Both our mains had plenty of meat, were very rich and creamy, and more importantly fresh. When tucking into our mains we really did feel like we were eating food straight from the restaurant! The chips were soft and well cooked, the rice was one point and the mushrooms packed full of delicious goodness.
Washed down with beer and champagne we enjoyed our meal and i have to say i couldn't fault either the service or the quality of food. So for the price and quality i think you would find it hard to find many places much better.  Don't just take my word for it, visit Trip Advisor to see what other people have made of the food and service.

So if you fancy giving it a try click here or visit them on Facebook or Twitter and be kept upto date with their latest news and offers:
