SPRINGURU The Pocket Spring Shoe Review

We all love the feeling of getting into bed right?.... Well imagine if there was a pair of shoes that could give you that exact feeling but for your feet!

Well the geniuses at SPRINGURU successfully launched a successful kick-starter project back in 2014 with the help of Professor Jim Richards, Professor of Biomechanics at the University of Central Lancashire. The Pocket Sprung Shoe had hundreds of backers from 23 different countries around the world, pre-ordering their own pair of SPRINGURUs.

So the British company were inspired by the mattress industry to the create the shoe, with each pair of SPRINGURU shoes containing 34 micro pocket springs built into the midsoles. These pocket springs are commonly reserved for high grade mattresses and can be purchased for £95. The patented technology literally adds a spring to your stride and brings a level of comfort usually associated with expensive trainers. Although it should be pointed out that no other shoe in the world is constructed using micro pocket springs!

You can see their amazing journey by watching the background video below:

I got my hands on their lace-up casual trainer in grey suede and silver ballistic nylon, with a speckled midsole. They fit well with most of my clothes as i tend to wear smart-casual clothing on a daily-basis. The didn't take much time at all to get used to, but i was genuinely surprised at how much i couldn't feel the floor when i walked. Which is great because as a parent we are often run ragged and by the end of the day dead on my feet, so having a shoe that can provide more comfort than many other shoes is great if you ask me.

Covered in durable breathable materials in various colours the shoes are very lightweight and i feel are a good mix between smart and casual. They are very comfortable and i honestly wore these for five days in a row to the gym, to work, on a country walk and around the house!

You really get an idea of how comfortable these shoes are when you go from wearing them to a generic pair of shoes. Usually after walking for a while in your everyday shoes your feet can feel it, in SPRINGURU shoe it is honestly like walking on air at times as the springs reduce the impact of your feet hitting the floor.

A huge thanks to SPRINGURU for letting me test the shoe, i really do rate this shoe highly and i am not lying when i say that i will be buying another pair! I thought anyone that is looking to buy a pair of the pocket spring shoes would like to see what they get for their money, so i created a quick video:

Feel free to follow SPRINGURU on Twitter and Facebook where they often provide the latest news, reviews and offers on all their products:
You have probably seen me review other shoes in the past, i recommend Runnerclick for sports and running shoes, NicerShoes for shoe reviews and Golfoid for golf equipment and shoes.
