So the summer holidays are finally upon us, which means for many of you your children will no longer be at school (boohoo). Filling those long summer days and nights can be difficult, but lucky for us all Frankie and Benny's, the family friendly American-Italian restaurant has got us covered with their amazing new #kidsincontrol competition.
Before i get into more about the competition i need to tell you that Frankie and Benny's have just released a brand spanking new phone application that you can download here (Apple) and here (Android). If you download the app over the summer you will be entitled to claim their superb 'Kids Eat For Free' offer, not only that but if you go to the website and click on their Frankie and Benny's Rewards section and click the link that prompts you download the application, you will be further rewarded with £10 off your next visit, how awesome!
Additionally, the Frankie & Benny's app boasts a new kids section which will host a summer of fun to include video and the chance for kids across the country to enter a national colouring competition, drawing Frankies food characters, titled Kids in Control.The nationwide drawing competition: Live from the 4th and Closing date: 7th September-You will find the T&Cs on the F&B Facebook page.
To enter the drawing competition can either visit their local restaurant to find a Kids In Control colouring sheet especially for drawing their characters on, Parents then snap and share their Kids drawings to social media, ensuring they use #KidsInControl and tag Frankie & Benny's pages - This can be Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!
They want to encourage kids to draw a food related character from the Kids Menu and to give it a name and a big SMILEY face.
The winner will receive the chance to have their character brought to life by their chefs in the Innovation Kitchen! Runners up will see their characters brought to life in the next episode of the Yummy Tales on the APP! Check-out the first episode below, in which Ted's drawing of Barry the Burger and Mr and Mrs Chip make an appearance.
Every week they will be giving away surprise prizes including chances to win family tickets to amusement parks, cinema trips, theatre trips and more!

Ted loves drawing so he more than happy to get creative with his colours and note-pad. At first we wanted to create his own pizza character that he wanted to call Pete...
He soon changed his tune when i mentioned that he could draw his favourite food, he quickly moved on to creating Mr and Mrs Chip and Barry the Burger...
As you can see from the short-clip below he was very very excited about his masterpiece:
