8 Pairs of Shoes Every Dad Should Own

Men's fashion seems to change in the blink of an eye and for the majority parents we just simply don't have the time when a new born is around to keep our ears to the ground and our eyes on Instagram. We also don't have the money to change or footwear willy nilly, seriously do brands not know how much we have to spend on childcare?

I am one of those men who don't really care much for the latest trends, partly because i often don't understand/see their appeal and i really don't care, i am comfortable with what i wear. I don't need/want a topknot, ripped skinny jeans or the must have Yeezy high-tops in my life.

So for all those dads, who like me want to ride out the those future trends and not get stuck in the past here are the only eight shoes you will to buy until spring 2032:

1. Lace Up Shoes Black
A fuss free pair of cheap lace up black shoes the that can suit most any formal occasions: weddings, funerals, job interviews, court appearance and of course most important one of all the stag-do. A key thing to remember that these types of shoes need little care and can be wiped down easily, so if you little monster drop their ice-cream or are sick on the way to a wedding you can quickly wipe away the debris and get back to being the daddy.

2. Brogues
Every father needs a smart shoe in his wardrobe, and brogues can be both comfortable and hard-wearing. A brown pair will work as well with a pair of jeans as they will khaki trousers or navy suit. For the original and best, look to Church’s or Trickers – both are English heritage brands that still manufacture their shoes in Northampton.

3. Winter Boots
For the colder months, an essential part of any dad collection has to be a good pair of boots. You will need to get a pair that has a simple design, has good comfort, insulation and a strong material as the chances are that you will be wearing them on and off for a good six months. opting for either a Duck Boot or the Street Smart style boot will ensure you won't scuff easily, you will be safe from stains and they are super water-proof.

4. Converse
Comfortable, stylish and packed full of personality, Converse simply look great with any outfit. They’re easy to fit in your suitcase, have a passionate fan base, and are one of the most affordable shoes on the market.  For us dads they are the mutli-shoe that we don't mind ruining!

5. Deck/Boat Shoes
The shoes are now considered to be a must have in the warmer summer months, consider as a staple a plain deck/boat shoes is perfect for chilling in the garden, short walks to the park and for those rare summer nights out to the pub.

6. Trainers
Every dad needs a good pair or lightweight running shoes for those random kick-abouts on the field and for those bloody 10K fun runs. The experts say if in doubt, buy it in white and don't spend a fortune. The likely hood of these trainers lasting over a year is a million to one, but you definitely a good strong pair that can last in all weather, avoid the cheap tatty £15 shoes and opt for a better brand of trainer.

7. Heavy Duty Sandals
Every man needs a pair of holiday sandals, so whether you are holidaying in the UK or abroad you will need a sandal that can handle those long walks to the beach, a bit of rough and tumble when play fighting with the kids and one that is light weight.

One sandal that i particular like are the traditional Lotus Rothbury Sandals as they are well made for the price and are made for ultimate comfort, housing a moulded memory-foam foot bed. Which is perfect for when carting pack the shopping or lifting one of your sleepy offspring to bed.

8. Stinky Old Trainers
You should never chuck a good pair of trainers away! Everybody has that one pair of shoes then can get into in seconds and as a parent these shoes come in handy for those emergencies in the garden, decorating and those daily trips to the bin with those toxic nappies.

Parenting is not easy and neither is fashion so thanks for reading and i hope you have found this post useful in some way shape or form.
