12 Hours In Pampers Baby-Dry Nappies

This weekend we were asked to put the brand new Pampers baby dry nappies to the test in a 12 hour challenge. So thanks to Pampers we headed over to Doncaster to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to put the nappies to the test.

As many of you will know being out and about for the entire day with one or two little one can be tough, especially if you have toddler. I noted some of the challenging situations we encountered and of course some of the best bits from our fun day out at the zoo.

The Morning Change
Sometimes you never know that mood your little one will wake-up in. Luckily for me my boys woke-up in a happy mood and ready for the zoo. After the first nappy change Ted found the Allen-key that i left out last night. He decided to get to work pretending to 'fix' things like his daddy does on the odd occasion. It is quite amazing how much fun a two year old can have will an Allen-key and a little imagination!

Morning TV
The boys woke-up a tad early so mummy stayed in bed. Instead of the usual Milkshake TV i decided to put on Frozen. Every child loves singing and dancing alone to that silly snow man and Elsa singing 'let it go'. It was nice to sit down if only for a little bit to get some hugs and kisses.

The Changing Bag
Trying to fit everything you need into the changing bag was the first challenge of the day. Having both boys nappies, Charlie's bottles and milk took up a significant amount of space. I am one of those people who would rather carry one overflowing bag than two half empty bags.

The Second Change
Charlie was fed just before we left the house at 9.a.m it was time for another nappy change. As you can see from the photo below Ted did not take kindly to the idea of the getting changed, i think he was rather excited about going to the zoo and he just wanted to get in the car.

Bribery
The tantrum continued for a good ten minutes and it was a battle to get his coat and shoes on. In the end we decided to divert his attention of going outside until Charlie was ready by offering him a snack.

Luckily for us he was more than happy to receive the 'surprise' so we managed to crack on and get out the house, if not a little later than planned. As every parent will know, leaving the house on time is almost impossible!

The Journey
Heading towards Doncaster from Harrogate we hit traffic on the motorway. Both of the boys has nodded off by this point but we spend a good 20 minutes extra in traffic. If it had been worse or we had to wait longer Charlie would have needed a bottle. Without the equipment to heat a bottle the journey could have been a nightmare!

Some nappies allow dampness to seep through their clothes when a child is in a car seat for long periods of time. The dry day nappies held-up very well considering how full it had been!

Arrival
We arrived to a windy and wet park, therefore we put Ted in the pram as we had a long-way to walk and didn't want to dilly-dally. He hardly ever goes in his pram so again as you can see from the photo he wasn't in the best of moods about it.

Laughter & Learning
Not long after getting through the heavy traffic Ted woke-up. We decided to ask him what animals he was going to see, not only did he go well in naming a wide variety of animals, he made us laugh by doing their sounds.

Muddy Puddles
As i mentioned previously it had rained on the way and throughout the park large puddles had formed. He was wearing his nice shoes and not his wellies, so it was again hard to stop him from jumping in them. A cold and wet boy would have been a very grumpy boy!

The Big Tent
Shortly after visiting the lions we came across a picnic area that was located besides a play-area. He was more bothered by the fact he was in a big tent than the slides and swings. He ran around for a good five minutes before we moved on to visit the polar bears, monkeys and the giraffes.

Our Little Monkey
After visiting the monkeys Ted decided he wanted to also climb up trees. So every other tree saw thereafter he wanted to try and climb. Which meant poor mummy had to pick him up and help him 'pretend' to climb up the trees.

The Pain in the Bum
After venturing half way around the park it was time to refuel and feed Charlie. Visiting the nearest cafe we parked ourselves on a random table, not thinking that  the location would be in anyway shape or form a problem.

With emotions running high Ted decided that he wanted to swing and pull on the barrier whilst he was waiting for his mum to pick us up some food and treats. As you can imagine after i told him off four times my patience was running thin and he was ordered to swap seats with me.

The Third Chance
After our little meal it was time for another change so we headed to the closest baby changing facilities. Ted decided that he didn't want to stand up to have his nappy changed as usual, he want to lay down on the changing unit. As you can see he was far too big, he didn't care... personally i just think that he wanted a rest. Luckily the Pampers are easily tear-able and easy to pull-up so it was no problem at all.

Fun & Games
We continued to march on around the park meeting a wealth of animals. We got plenty of pictures and Ted got the chance to get up close and personal with some of his new friends.

The Gift Shop
After visit the rest of the park we headed to the gift shop. Asking your little one to pick-out something they want is almost asking for the impossible. Ted heading straight for the sweets, as like many kids he has a very sweet tooth.

In the end we decided upon buying a toy dinosaur. That was doing several laps of the shop and me telling him 'not to touch' everything a million and one times.

The Journey Home
After four hours of fun we made it back to the car at a good time. After bundled in to the family car the heavens opened and the rain came down. Which was not ideal driving conditions as the roads turned to rivers.

All-in-all we had a fun-filled day, we loved visiting the Yorkshire Wild Life Park and will definitely be returning in warmer weather. We would recommend the baby-dry nappies to any parent who has a toddler who is between potty training and using nappies on the odd occasion.
