Yorkshire Day is a celebration of all things Yorkshire. Although a modern celebration - started in 1975 - it is based on a long and colourful history and was created to raise the profile of the county's proud heritage. Read all about its history here.
Celebration usually consist of people from all over the UK coming together to indulge in vast quantities of regional pride....Yorkshire Tea, Yorkshire Puddings, Wensleydale Cheese and Flat-Caps.
My sister is getting married so i will be treating myself to some fine Yorkshire ales over the weekend.

York Maze are very keen on all things Yorkshire and are having a pudding hurling event. Get along on Saturday!
The CLA Game Fair is the celebration of the great British countryside and the event not to be missed by any country enthusiast.
A weird, wise and wonderful ten day festival has come to York!
Top notch comedians and fantastic family entertainment will be hitting York’s city centre in a festival of fun and frivolity.
The Leeds Flower Show has been held nearly every year since the first Show in 1864 – it is run by the Leeds Horticultural Society Committee – a group of enthusiastic people who work hard to keep this marvellous tradition going each year. This year will be the 151st year since that first show.
It is also the 10th Birthday of Weetons Food Hall on West park, Harrogate so they’re celebrating with nearly two weeks of offers, entertainment and of course, delicious food and drink. Widely known as one of the best butchers in Britain, the store overlooks the famous ‘Stray’.
The Jorvik Medieval Festival returns from August 1. There are two 90-minute walks around the five medieval halls, starting at 10.30am and 1pm. It’s free, but pre-booking is essential.
To celebrating Yorkshire Day the park are having a superhero weekend.
If you can get over to Scarborough Castle then they are having a knight battle. four teams fight with clubs and shields in this contest of skill and strength.
