modern men really do care more than you think

It can be hard for men, and particularly fathers, to be recognised for their caring side and know how best to show it off. Men are often stereotyped as not in touch with their emotional side, and perhaps less caring than women.

One of my favourite brands, Dove Men+Care have teamed up with various rugby players to talk about what care means to them, within the game and with their families, and they have also commissioned some research that shows just how caring modern day dads are.

The study found that:
• 67% of men admit to loving their children more than their partner
• A third of men state that their father has never said ‘I love you’
• Two thirds of men tell their children they love them daily, five times as much as their own father did
• Men are at their most caring at the age of 53 while for women it’s at the age of 40

Interestingly, the average British male (38 per cent) also expresses love by completing up to ten tasks per day to care for their family, double that of their fathers. This includes reading the children a bedtime story (35 per cent), giving the children a bath (30 per cent) and cooking for the family (27 per cent).

It was identified that at age 53 men are considered at their most caring (21 per cent), thirteen years later than women at 40 years (19 per cent). This is attributed to men feeling more confident to show their emotions (58 per cent), putting others before themselves (52 per cent) and feeling at their most content (51%).

Life moves hard and fast so us parents so we need to make sure that we look after our selves and our skin. You don't want to look like Bruce Forsyth before you hit 40 check-out Dove's Men+Care range.

I personally recommend the care ultra hydrating cream as it smells like heaven and makes you feel like an absolute god.
