Fact: Cool People Wear Cardigans

Did you know that the cardigan was named after James Brudenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British Army Major General who led the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War. It is modelled after the knitted wool waistcoat that British officers supposedly wore during the war.

Years later the cardigan has now become a go to piece for both winter and summer wardrobes as it transcends not only the seasons but also the boundaries of both smart and casual, says menstylefashion.com.

The humble cardigan has been synonymous with at least one group or style in every decade making it more than just your average fade. One of the most memorable decades for the cardigans was the roaring twenties and thirties, college culture did push the knitwear into a new zone of popularity with youth of the time.

When it comes to the cardigan i am an ambassador, ever since i was teenager i was one of those young men who did appreciate and "rock" a casual cardigan.  Growing up in the 90's meant that i was exposed to hundreds of singers, stars, footballs and celebrities all wearing huge retro cardigans. Even the legendary Kurt Cobain like to don fashionable knitwear.

The list of cool people that wear cardigans on a regular basis in the media are endless; David Beckham, Daniel Craig, Pharrell Williams, Ryan Gosling, etc...

As a young father and professional i like summer and shawl cardigans, i tend to avoid wearing heavy or belted knitwear as it they can be cooler in the summer. If like me you like to dress smartly and you are in desperate need of casual or office-wear you might want to check-out Woolovers.com.

They stock a wide range of interesting cardigans patterns for men and you can choose from luxurious cotton and cashmere cardigans, cozy lambswool cardies or tough British wool to see you through every fashion challenge, in the office, on a night out, or in the great outdoors.
