Here are the Biggest Campervans of All Time #CP

The Newman King Aire RV

If you want to know just how big this campervan is, it can be summed up in one short phrase: it comes with his and hers basins in the bathroom. Many houses do not have the space for this, but this well-appointed and carefully designed home away from home does. Coming complete with a comprehensive bathroom and fully equipped kitchen, it stretches nearly 45 feet long (around 15 metres) and has head clearance of over seven foot, so unless you and your guests are basketball players, no one risks getting a bumped head.

Roaming the Outback

If you are going to be spending months on end in your campervan, touring through some of Australia's most punishing terrain, you want to be comfortable while you do it. And this is even more important when there are eight of you in that small space. Small space? Not really, the Commander 8x8 can sleep ten, stands two stories tall and is 40 feet (about 13 metres) long. Made by luxury campervan manufacturers SLRV, the monstrous vehicle is estimated to have cost between AU$1 million and AU$2 million. Every mod con has been accounted for, from super-thick walls to keep every cool in Aussie heat, to the solar panels with diesel generator back-up that will keep the family comfortable and safe even when they are miles from civilisation. Even with its generous size, the Commander 8x8 offers an astonishing amount of cunningly fitted storage and is sure to keep the anonymous family travelling happily for years to come.

Will Smith's RV

Actor Will Smith has done very well for himself and he doesn't have to be uncomfortable unless he chooses to. And he doesn't choose to! He is the proud owner of an immense RV that is packed with all the essential items Will needs to be content while on location shooting a film. It is a two-story behemoth that even features a home office, alongside generous lounge space – two lounges! – and even a thirty-person viewing room. The motor home cost around US$2.5 million – but Will hasn't shouldered that full cost himself. When he is not on location, you can hire his gorgeously appointed campervan for a cool US$9,000 per week! And why not: it has fourteen televisions, one of which is a 100-inch beauty, granite fittings in the fully-equipped kitchen and superb furnishings that will make you forget that you are not actually in a house!

Powerhouse Coach

Less campervan and more lorry with really good décor, the Powerhouse Coach is a motor home with massive dimensions. Stretching a hefty 122 feet long (that's about 40 metres, or bigger than most houses in the UK!) The engine alone is enough to make your head spin with a guarantee that your motorhome can be packed full with everything and everyone you want to take along with you, without turning a hair. These huge campers are almost all custom made, with a few ready-made options on the market waiting to be snapped up when their previous owners outgrow their travel bug. But the examples that can be seen boast king-sized main beds with secondary queen-sized beds, as well as host of singles for the children or other visitors. And, needless to say, every tucks up small enough to pass for a regular lorry when you are in transit!

Now your own campervan does not need to be as big and flashy as these super campervans – but no matter how much you invested in your motorhome, don't take a risk by being underinsured – find cheap campervan insurance here and enjoy peace of mind as you travel.
