My Netflix Festive Favourites

With many schools breaking-up for the festive period already i thought i would lend a hand to the parents who have not yet prepared their festive viewing wish-list for either themselves or their little ones. For those of you with Netflix i have picked out four festive children's movies and episodes for them to enjoy on the run-up to Santa arrivals and four great treats for us adults for when the kids are asleep:

Christmas Viewing for the Kids

Arthur Christmas

A great film to kick-off your festive viewing for all the family as it is easy viewing and packed full of fun and laughter: Santa's clumsy son Arthur gets put on a mission with St. Nick's father to give out a present they misplaced to a young girl in less than two hours.

A Very Pink Christmas

If you fancy taking a trip down memory lane then i highly recommend this Pink Panther classic: The Pink Panther and Big Nose establish rival Christmas tree businesses in their attempts to earn the purchase price for a mutually coveted luxury car. In the process, they inadvertently discover the true Christmas spirit of giving.

Timmy Time: Timmy's Christmas Surprise
Warning the Timmy Time theme-tune will get stuck in your head: Everyone is busy and full of jingly bell fun, so busy that they don't notice the blizzard outside until it's time to go home. When Osbourne looks out of the window he's shocked to see the Nursery Bus buried under a snowdrift, the lane is impassable, they're snowed in ! Timmy is very upset and his eyes brim with tears. He thought he'd be at home on Christmas morning unwrapping the present he wrote and asked Santa for - his dream bike - intense stuff right?

Santa Claws
Kittens + Christmas = a must watch festive movie: Tommy, who is unable to celebrate Christmas because his mom says Santa isn't real, leaves his kittens out for Santa to take back to the North Pole, but after a major allergic reaction Santa can't fly the sleigh or deliver presents anymore, so the kittens have to deliver the rest of the presents to all the boys and girls before sunrise.

Festive viewing for the Adults

Home Alone

For me it would not feel like Christmas until i have watched Home Alone. For those of you that have been living under a rock: An 8-year old troublemaker must protect his home from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation.

Deck the halls

Another cracker of a festive movie: Two neighbors have it out after one of them decorates his house for the holidays so brightly that it can be seen from space.

Black Adder's A Christmas Carol

Blackadder's Christmas Carol is a one-off episode of Blackadder, a parody of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It is set between Blackadder the Third (1987) and Blackadder Goes Forth (1989), and is narrated by Hugh Laurie. Produced by the BBC, it was first broadcast on BBC1 on 23
December 1988.

A Very Murray Christmas

A very funnny American Christmas musical comedy film directed by Sofia Coppola and co-written by Bill Murray, Mitch Glazer, and Coppola. The film features an ensemble cast including Bill Murray, George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Rashida Jones, and Miley Cyrus and was released on December 4, 2015, on Netflix!

I hope that my Christmassy list has inspired you in some way to get stuck into the festive offerings on or off Netflix. I know that i was in the festive mood last we as lucky old me actually got the chance to attend this years Netflix Christmas Party down in London last week as a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam.

Leaving my beloved Yorkshire behind i headed down to shoreditch and mingled with fellow StreamTeamer Morgana from coffeeworksleeprepeat.com and Jenny from letstalkmommy.com as well as some Celebrities including comedian Joe Lycett, GBBO winner Candice and presenter Ade Adepitan. Besides the fantastic attendees the decor was incredible as the clever and brilliant folks at Netflix created three themed scene from three of the best Netflix Original shows: Stranger Things, Narcos and The Crown. Each section had it's own games and unique features which meant that i had plenty to see and do throughout the night including charades with the royal family and pass the parcel with the Narcos clan.

The scene from Stranger Things was absolutely incredible and had to be my personal favourite:

At the event i was able to get my hands on a Chromecast and a three months Netflix subscription so i thought i would do the festive thing and give everyone a chance to win it. You can enter via and get more information about the giveaway here - thanks for entering and good luck.
