Gaming: My Getaway Form Parenthood

Throughout my childhood and most of my adult life i have always turned to gaming to get a couple of hours downtime. These games enable me to step out of my daily routine and enter a world without stress, hassle or pressure.

It is not my only getaway, but to me it is my only getaway from my usual social interactions, whether that be human or on social media. As a parent i think it is even more important for me to step away from my routine to relax and gaming offers the perfect release.

I would recommend gaming to any parent who need a couple of hours a week with their heads in the clouds. You don't have to game alone either, last week i spent the night playing Rory Mcilroy golf with my mate Alex.
I thought it was worth sharing three games i am playing now in the hope that i inspire you to pick up the controller again and give yourself some time away from reality:

Call of Duty Black Ops

One of the games i fell in love with whilst at university was Call of Duty Blacks Ops on the Xbox. For those of you that don't know Black Ops is a 2010 first-person shooter video game, the game is the seventh instalment of the Call of Duty series. It is also the first to be set in the Cold War. It is the third in the series to be developed by Treyarch.

I have completed this game more times than i can remember but it is the multiple player mode that gets my attention. I have spent hours playing online and hours taking on the bots whilst my friends have been around. Recently i have been playing around with hacks and cheats for the game, it is not something i have ever done before, but i wanted to go toe-to-toe with the best in the game. I found that I want cheats had some useful hacks that enabled me to fire and aim more accurately in the heat of battle.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil was one of the first games i ever played on Play Station. As a kid that was obsessed with the supernatural, horror and the extreme. the games really took my breath away. Growing-up i never lost my love for the franchise. For those of you that don't know Resident Evil known is a survival horror third-person shooter video game developed and published by Capcom, the franchise has gone on to release movies.

I continue to work my way through the game every now and then on the Wii. If you love a solving puzzels and being scared shitless every now and then i really think you could get into the game.

Clash Royale

For those of you that don't know Clash Royale is a freemium mobile strategy video game developed and published by Supercell. The game combines elements from collectible card games, tower defense, and multiplayer online battle arena.

It is my go to game for when i have couple of minutes, whether that be during the ad-break, on the loo or in the waiting room - think chess meets top trumps!

I also like to dip into Tiger Woods golf on the I-pad and Mine-sweeper on the laptop. Do you have a game that you play to get away from it all?
