A Run In The Park With The Asics Gel Running Shoes

This week i got the chance to review a superb pair of Asics gel-cumulus running shoes from sportsshoes.com.

As many of you know, i am a keen runner, golfer and squash player. Towards the back-end of last year i suffered severe ligament damage and wasn't able to run for almost two months.

Before the injury i had taken on Tough Mudder and run the Leeds Half Marathon.
I am generally fit and healthy, but as of late my busy schedule and bad back has meant that i haven't being running as much as i would like. I have however been hitting the golf course so its not all that bad!

So i was given the chance to pick some new running shoes from sportsshoes.com, the UK's top site for running shoes, clothes and equipment. To decide which shoes would best to suit my running style i checked-out their "how to choose a right shoes" video guide - they discuss hoe every runner is different and how each person can find their perfect running shoes based on their foot shapes and size, as well as their running style. The video was easy to follow and quickly gave me an idea of the best shoes available to me.

So after watching the video i shopped around to find a neutral cushioned shoe suited for long running. I settled on the Asics gel-cumulus 16 running shoes - ss15, the RRP £109.99.

For those looking for ultimate comfort the ASICS GEL-CUMULUS running shoe incorporates FluidRide midsole technology, producing a more efficient and comfortable ride on longer runs - which is perfect for those wanting to train for those longer runs.

An improved toe off is thanks to a series of strategically-placed flex grooves on the outsole which maximises service between the wearer and the shoe. Working with FluidRide is SpEVA 45 lasting that quantifies better bounce-back and even more cushioning.

Constructed within the midsole, Asics takes on a new role as a lasting technology for enhanced cushioning and comfort. The GEL-CUMULUS 16 thwarts fatigue, helping you to run more efficiently with Full Length Guidance Line guiding your foot through the gate cycle delivering a smooth stride transition. With every impact shock attenuated with a cushioned rearfoot and forefoot gel, the shoe delivers a supremely smooth run.

So the product description sold it, i have had so many bad shoes in the past and i know that investing in comfort goes along way. So as i said previously the shoes arrived this week and i got the chance to take them out for a quick spin when the little one was down for a nap in the afternoon.

I hadn't been running for a while so i could only manage a few miles as you can see from the image on the left. The shoes themselves were very light-weight, i adjusted to the new shoes quickly and did feel that strides were cushioned more than usual making for a nicer run. I seemed to bounce more than i ever had done which helped me move quicker whilst using less energy.

I also think it's worth mentioning that it can often take time to break-in new running shoes, it wasn't the case with these. The flexible material responded to my movements instead of resisting them.

A run in the park with the Asics shoes was enough to make me fall in love with the brand. If you asked me to describe the shoes in three words they would be; quality, easy and comfortable.

Sportsshoes.com delivered the shoes within three days of receipt. The shoes arrived in a Asics branded box, covered in a delivery bad; arriving in one piece the shoes were in perfect condition.

So if you want to get your hands on the right pair of running shoes then i recommend heading over to Sportsshoes.com. They will go above and beyond to help you not only pick the right shoes, but also run better. Visit them on Twitter:
