Farmer
Paul from South Acre Farm: “There is a lot to celebrate about British farming – so do come and join
us on Open Farm Sunday and find out why! My family and I are really looking forward to welcoming everyone and
showing them around our farm.
·
Meet our herd of
dairy cows, see them being milked, tour their housing and pastures and learn how
that milk is made.
·
During your visit
to South Acre Farm you will discover how we produce quality milk through precision
farming management and utilising the resources we have to maximise production.
·
There will be lots
to see and do including guided farm tours, tractor and trailer rides, ‘meet the
animals’ as well as refreshments and a display of some of the equipment and
machinery we use on the farm.
Caroline Drummond, Chief Executive of LEAF said: “Open Farm Sunday is a great opportunity for everyone to get out into
the countryside and visit a farm. It is
vital that we support our farmers and understand the work they do to produce
quality food, sustainably, for us all to enjoy. All types and sizes of farm are opening on the 8th
June to tell the story behind our food and so much more. Visitors will get a fascinating insight into aspects of
the countryside that they wouldn’t normally see.”
This year’s event will be the eighth Open Farm Sunday.
