On the 9th of March (2014) i headed over to
Ewood Park to watch one of the greatest football rivalry's in action. East Lancashire derby saw
Blackburn Rovers unbeaten at Ewood Park for 35 years take on 2nd in the league and promotion favorites Burnley.

For those of you that haven't yet visited Ewood Park its a nice family friendly stadium. With a great atmosphere, history and facilities for both children and people with disabilities. If you get chance visit the store, i did and picked up some little socks for the little man. I also picked up myself a scarf for £8 - which i thought was a bit of a bargain. We arrived early to sock up the atmosphere knowing that the game would be well attended and emotions would be running high!

We always park away from the stadium as traffic is rather busy before, during and after the game. You will likely pay around £4 to park close-by in one of the many car parks surrounding the stadium. The great thing about Blackburn Rovers is that they some amazing ticket offers for non season ticket holders.
We picked up our tickets for £25 each and was offered tickets to next game for only £8- we sat right in the middle of the pitch right at the front. Really great view and close to all the facilities. Both sets of fans we in good spirit and voice and all concerned settled in to what was set to be one of the most nerve racking games i have ever seen.
Before the game got really started one fan chucked a chicken on the pitch - some Blackburn fans are still protesting against the owners who own chicken farms in the middle east. The were blamed for the Championships sides down fall in the Premier league back in 2012. I managed to video the chicken on the pitch:
The Two goals in the last 17 minutes saw Burnley come from behind to claim a 2-1 win at bitter rivals Blackburn Rovers, their first victory in the East Lancashire derby for 35 years. The 2nd half wasn't comfortable watching... but all in all it was a fantastic game and a fantastic day.
