Oscars Bingo with Showcase Cinemas

Just getting over the excitement of the Brits? Well luckily enough for us the Oscars is just around the corner! It was amazing to witness Leonardo DiCaprio win his first award last year and i have a feeling that this years Oscars are going to be dominated by La La Land. You might remember that last year i played along with Showcase Cinema's Oscars Bingo, well this year they have decided to do it again. So naturally i jumped at the chance to get involved.

So what is Oscars Bingo and why should you care? Well if like me you will be tuning into the Oscars or the Highlights on Sky Cinema at 8pm on Monday then you will most likely be tweeting about it whilst you watch. Joining in with the Oscars Bingo game is a little bit of light-hearted fun, but you also get the chance to chat to other liked-minded folk about the nights events.

So if you fancy joining in the fun then all you need to do is follow and tweet along with the #OscarsBingo hashtag and tweet at @ShowcaseCinemas throughout the awards highlight. You can print the following card or play along digitally!

Not sure who to look out for this year? Well i have made my own predictions below:

On Valentine's Day we actually got the chance to visit Showcase Cinemas in Leeds, to see the new xXx movie: Return of Xander Cage. The movie was as cheesy and action-packed as the original xXx movie, which is exactly what we wanted to see. The movie hinges on poking fun at the macho-man, James Bond like hero, with sexual references and awful lines slapped-on throughout the move you are never too far away from being hit with a ball of cheese.

Without the cheese the movie has enough to keep any screen-junky entertained with plenty of fight-scenes, eye candy and car chases. The cast was certainly impressive and it had a couple of surprise cameos that i was impressed with #nospoilers

The plot won't win any awards, but at least 80% of the movie is believable. I saw the ending to the movie a mile-off and for those of you that don't or didn't you will be kicking yourself for not seeing it from a mile-off as well.

I would give the movie 3/5 stars!

There are two things that make Showcase Cinemas the best cinema in the UK:
  1. The facilities: everything is clean, up-to date, has a vintage feel about it and most importantly it has lounge bar where we sat and relaxed with a couple of drinks.
  2. The Screens: you get more space for your money and the reclining seats are absolutely incredible, there is no better way to watch a movie!

Thanks for reading i hope to see you tweeting along with the Oscars on Monday!
