Wedding Planning: Suits, Entertainment & Honeymooning

Entering the year 2017 means that our wedding is right around the corner! 8 months to go but there’s no time to waste, August will come round fast. The Save the Dates are out and the formal invitations not far behind them, the wedding (of the year!) is a very real, but very exciting prospect!

The venue is all arranged, and my fiancée is planning all the table decorations, the cake and the other finishing touches along with her dress of course. We have also booked in some activities for our guests to make sure they have the best time. We are hiring a caricaturist to entertain our guests before the wedding breakfast and then a casino to kick off the wedding reception. So it’s time for me to make sure that I’ll look tiptop for the big day.

It’s a given that the bride-to-be is going to look amazing in her once-in-a-lifetime dress, but I think it’s just as important that I dress to impress on the day. Searching for men’s suits can actually be more time consuming then I first thought. I instantly knew that I wanted a navy blue suit, but when it comes done to style, cut and material finish, the possibilities can be endless!

In terms of cut to choose from, you can go for classic, tailored or slim fit. And then there’s style, three piece, dinner suit, concept suit. Finding a style that suits me, and the theme of our wedding is very important.
The Skopes Fashion Dinner Suit looks very smart, with satin trim and striking silver lining. I particularly like the slim fitting trousers and fitted jacket. The 1 button font is very contemporary, but I like the way it’s combined with the traditional jetted ticket pocket to ensure the suit reflects British Tradition. Overall this is a very wearable suit has the right balance of classic and quirky for the a special occasion, like a wedding.

The Skopes Darwin Suit is also one of my favourites as it’s made from wool rich fibre combined with polyester, so this suit is both luxurious to touch but hard wearing and with great crease recovery – definitely a good idea when you’re surrounded by kids.

I particularly like the overall appearance of this classic British tailored suit, it’s very smart and I will easily wear it time and time again, even after the wedding for meetings at work or at other events.

Another aspect we need to plan as part of the wedding preparation is a honeymoon! As many couples with children will agree, leaving our kids for a long time it’s simply not something we want to do; so we are hoping to have two short honeymoons.

For the first honeymoon, we are thinking about ticking something off our bucket list. A trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights would simply be amazing! We both want some adventure and romance and feel this would be perfect for us. A trip to Iceland looks like true escapism... Only 8 months to go and hopefully will be on our way!
