Beat Bugs is one of the best loved shows in our household so
it was only fitting that Ted decided that he wanted to bake his a favourite Beat Bugs
Characters.
For those of you that don’t know Beat Bugs is inspired by the songs of The Beatles, Beat Bugs tells uplifting and life-affirming stories filled with hope and melody. The animated show follows five best friends who together discover life’s most important lessons in an overgrown suburban backyard.
The Beat Bugs live out these childhood adventures to the words and music of The Beatles. Created by Josh Wakely, Beat Bugs incorporates more than 50 songs from the Lennon/McCartney ‘Northern Songs’ catalogue and features covers by world-leading music artists.
So how did we make our fantastic and delicious chocolate
rice krispie cakes?
Steps One: Sourcing the Ingredients
To create your own cakes all you need to get hold is:- Butter
- Milk chocolate
- Golden syrup
- Rice krispies
- Sweets
Steps Two: Melting
Once you have everything you need it is time to get smashing/breaking up that chocolate. The smaller the chucks the quicker they will melt, you can either melt the chocolate in the mirco using a microwavable bowl, or on the hob. We opted for the microwave as it only took a couple of minutes.Step Three: Mixing & Filling
With the melted chocolate cooling in the bowl we then poured in the rice krispies with a little help from mummy and stirred the krispies until they were completely smothered by chocolate. With Charlie keeping a close eye on proceedings we all enjoyed licking the remaining chocolate from the bowl after we had filling-up all the cake cases.Steps Five: Decorating
Once the cakes were hard and set we got down to my favourite part, the decoration! With our love for sweets and Beat Bugs fueling us we used a wide range of sweets to create the Beat Bugs Characters. Check-out the results:
Kumi & Walter
Buzz & Crick
Jay
We had a couple of cakes left over so we used some more the sweets to spell out Jay as that is Ted's favourite character.
Thanks for reading, i hope you have enjoyed reading the post and seeing the images as much as we did making and consuming them!
