Nerf N-Strike Elite Hyperfire Review

So this week i got the chance to put one of the hottest new Nerf blasters to the test, as a big kid i was overjoyed to put the Nerf N-strike Elite - Hyperfire blaster through it's paces.

Check-out our short video clip of the blaster in action:

I confess that i never seen a Nerf blaster as big as this, this really is an elite blaster. I am used to seeing the single fire blasters in the supermarket so when i first saw one i admit i was as excited as a kid in a candy shop.

When you get the blaster you are given a good set of instructions, it only took me a minute or two to get the blaster set-up and ready to go. The box does enough to sell the features and the instruction are simply enough for anyone to pick-up.

One thing you don't get is batteries, you will need to go out and buy 4 x d size batteries, which cost me £6. You can easily put the batteries in to the blaster as the battery section it located on the backside of the blaster.

So what do you get for £50? Well you get hold of Nerf's fastest motorised blasters, firing 5 darts per second! With a 25 bullet drum you can fire the darts up to 25 metres!

When firing all of the darts one after another i found that the darts don't travel as far as they do should only let off one dart by it's self.

The blaster whilst big, is not too heavy, in battle you can easy move, turn and dive around. One thing that i did find unusual is that you have to pull two triggers to fire the darts; one to get the motor working and the other to fire the darts, The motor makes a great fan like noise that sends a warning to any enemy saying "i am here".

Whilst the blaster burns through the darts and it is fantastic, reloading is rather less enjoyable. Reloading 25 darts one by one takes time and is a little bit fiddly to be honest. To reload you have to release the cartridge and load the darts one by one, making sure they are facing the right direction.

Luckily for me i had a little helper who loved to run and collect all the darts and reload the blaster for me.

Whilst we put it through it's paces around the house we had our family over for tea. This mention that everyone had a go and the feedback i got was brilliant, they couldn't but it down.

I would recommend the Nerf N-Strike to any parent who has an eight year oldhot boy or girl!

You can pick-up the blaster from one of the following retailers:

Thanks to Hasbro for sending me the blaster for the review
