Father’s Day Gifts Avalible at Aldi

I have teamed-up with Aldi this week to help them showcase their selection of brilliant Father's Day gifts from their Special Buys range.

For those you not yet familiar with Aldi's special buys: every Sunday and Thursday, in store and online they release exclusive customer offers on homewares, electricals, DIY, clothing and much more. Aldi pride themselves on offering exceptional quality and amazing value products all year round.

So if you are still looking for a couple of gifts for your dad this Father's Day why not continue to read this post to see me test drive some of the must have products in their Special Buys range this week:

Golf Balls

If like me your father enjoys a round of golf  every now and then you my friends are in luck! Aldi have some incredible golfing products at ridiculous prices. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pack of PGA Tour Golf Sport Balls and a pack of the Nike and Topflite Golf Balls which we happily put to the test using one of my putters and Ted's mega-bloks:

Watch a couple of clips of us tackling our homemade mini crazy golf course:

The PGA endorsed 6 pack of sports golf balls can be picked-up for just £4.29. The balls can actually be used on the course so next time your dad is hitting the practise putting green he can pull out these funky balls.

The box of 24 Nike and Topflite golf balls provides fantastic value at just £9.99, by provided used and recycled balls your dad can get your hands on quality usual balls. So when he is teeing-off with water-hazards ahead he can keep safe his expensive balls.

Glen Marnoch Whiskey

It wouldn't be Father's Day without having a little tipple of something special. If like me and my family you dad likes a drink on a special occasion then i might just have the perfect gift idea.

Aldi's own brand Whiskey, Glen Marnoch, is an award winning Spreyside single Malt scotch Whiskey. Distilled, matured and bottled in Scotland it smells like a combination of butterscotch, rich oak and dried fruits, with a very rich taste pack with a spiced brand a citrus punch.

I honestly felt that whiskey was rather smooth, easy on the nose and a drink that could either be enjoyed with a mixer or a sipping whiskey after a good meal or as a night-cap.

Even thought a bottle costs £12.99, it is definitely a drink you would be more than happy to give your Father as a stand alone gift and one that he would be proud to sit in his drinks cupboard.

Summer Seasonal Sauces

I rarely have a meal without a sauce straddling the side of my plate, so condiments are king, as they take center-stage at our dinner table everyday. Aldi have a fine selection of summer seasonal sauces, and lucky-old me got the chance to run a taste test last night. With Jalapeno Pepper Relish, British Blue Cheese Dressing and Garlic Mayo all making an appearance on my plate.

So for tea i cooked-up a British Classic: fish and chips, admittedly is was lemon-pepper fish but still, very tasty!

So how did they taste?

Garlic Mayo
Well i am obviously going to be biased towards the Mayo as i am a huge fan of the standard high-street mayonnaise. Bramwell's Garlic Mayo had a smooth texture as you would expect and it certainly had a garlicky punch, but without being overpowering. I would be more than happy to continue to use the sauce with any meal!

Jalapeño Pepper Relish
For someone that isn't a huge fan of spicy food i was genuinely surprised at how intensely flavour-sum and bearable the relish was. Whilst it was a little lip numbing the sweet peppery relish is one i could see myself continuing to use when i have fajitas and for my chips on the odd occasion.

Blue Cheese Sauce
I did have a little taste of the Blue Cheese sauce even though i detest all forms of blue-cheese. The sauce is creamy, sharp and flavour some and i can imagine that lovers of the blue cheese would love this condiment !

Rubber Band Shooter

Appealing to anyone's inner child will always get you a tick in their good-books. The wooden rubber band shooting gallery can give your Father a taste of what it was like to be alive in the wild-wild-west for just £6.99.

We took the game for a spin and found that it was super easy to get started as it required minimal set-up time. The product is rather compact so it is a good size for packing away into the board games box in the loft. Loading the wooden blaster is easy, the little instruction manual made it perfectly clear on what to do and why.  I really think this gift is one that keep all members of the family entertained at the dinner table after your Father's day dinner.

Well i hope this post has inspired some excellent gift ideas and whatever you buy, your dads have as much fun playing with his gifts than i did with the ones Aldi let us review. If you fancy keeping an eye-out for other gift idea, special offers and competitions why not follow Aldi on Twitter:
